A contemporary Risk Society is created by the rapid and no-controlling development of science and technology. Risks also appear in other areas such as politics, economics and culture. In the face of a Risk Society, people should be aware of social risk, and reform educational purposes accordingly. Education should teach students how to question authorities, to make a judgment or a choice rather than providing them with fixed values and knowledge, should develop students′flexibility and adaptability rather than producing prescribed socialized-people. Education should also change from training students to be economic individuals to educating them to be active and responsible citizenships, from teaching students learning for a local or a nation to learning and action for all. |
