The development process of higher education in Peru can be divided into three stages: elitism,
popularization, and internationalization. In the 1960s, Peru entered the stage of popularization of higher education,
but its own economic development context and social environment led to problems such as a weak scientific
education foundation, an unsound education system, and unbalanced investment in private education. Facing the
new trend of education internationalization, there are many problems to be solved urgently. Reviewing the
development of higher education in Peru in the past five hundred years, it can provide a useful reference for
university governance reform in China. |
